If you're wondering about how you can start your Post Secondary applications, you might want to continue reading.  UBC, SFU, UVic opened up their application portal on October 1st.  Deadlines can be as early as December 1st. (This early deadline applies for UBCs Presidential Scholars, SFU's Scholars Entrance Awards).  For step by step instructions on how to make your Post Secondary applications, please visit  "How to apply to Post Secondary Schools" on this website. 

 

Upcoming Events: 

November 18th - SFU - Information Session - A representative from SFU's business school will be at RHS to conduct a presentation about their program.  SFU Beedie is consistently ranked among the Top 100 business schools globally for research output. This session will take place in Room #128 (Ms. Rooksby's classroom) during lunch. 

 

November 19th, 2024 from 7:30 - 9:00 pm - UBC Business Fundamentals Workshop -  The purpose of this event is to help students interested in the Sauder School of Business solidify their decision by experiencing Sauder course material. This is an excellent opportunity to learn business fundamentals from well-established Career Peer Advisors and Teaching Assistants.  Location: Zoom

UBC Women in Engineering (WiE) is holding a mentorship program for high school girls* with an interest in engineering! This program will run from November 2024 to April 2025, and is focused on helping students in grades 10-12 to:

  • Learn more about engineering and the various opportunities it offers

  • Resolve inquiries about university applications through connecting with upper year students

  • Receive guidance on the transition from high school to university

  • Connect with current engineering students and learn from their experiences

  • Explore different ways to get involved at university

  • Join in on WiE events (eg. professional development workshops, design team presentations, etc)

 

The mentee application is currently open, and the deadline to apply is November 4th, 2024. The link for the application can be accessed here:

November 29th - Western University Information Session - Ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide, Western combines research excellence and student experience to create impact locally and globally.  A representative from Western U will provide some insight and valuable information about their application process and popular programs.  This event will take place after school in the library. 

November 29th - The King's University - A representative will be at RSS to connect with potential university students during lunch period.  You can find this representative at an information booth located near the foyer.
