For three weeks in November, the Salish Weave Collection was on display in the LLC.  This collection of 9 prints represents pieces from contemporary Coast Salish artists and was gifted to school districts to raise awareness and for schools to have "real" art to use in the classroom.  Over five hundred students from 28 classes in grades 8-12 engaged in learning about Salish art and artists.  We had students from English, English First Peoples, BC First Peoples, Art, Studio 111, and the Young Parent Program exploring Coast Salish design elements, sharing their thoughts on the meaning of the art, and creating their own art using Coast Salish and Northwest Coast shapes.
