**Arts Education Courses
Grade 8 students have a choice of band or a rotation exploring both art and drama.  Grade 9 students have many choices in the areas of art, photography, music and drama.  Please refer to the ARTS EDUCATION course descriptions for more information. **It is expected that Grade 9 students choose one Arts Education course and one ADST course - please see your counsellor if you have any questions.

**Applied Design, Skills and Technologies (ADST) Courses
Grade 8 students will experience a rotation exploring carpentry, food studies and textiles.  Grade 9 students can choose from metalwork, carpentry, automotives, graphics, food studies, textiles, business and technology (computer) education courses. Please refer to the ADST course descriptions in the department links on the website for more information. **It is expected that Grade 9 students choose one Arts Education course and one ADST course - please see your counsellor if you have any questions. 

**Languages
Grade 9 students can choose French, Spanish, Japanese or Mandarin as their language course.

English Language Learning (ELL)
Grades 8 and 9 ELL students will have ELL support classes in their timetable, depending on their ELL Level (1-4).  See the English Language Learning section.

Career Education
Grades 8 and 9 students will learn about career pathways and options, including life balance, personal development and goal setting, connections to the community and mentorship and life and career plans within each of their courses and through unique events and learning opportunities and workshops during the school year.
