RSS Road Safety Day on May 22
We all play a role in keeping our roads safe, especially when we are behind the wheel. Driving is a privilege, and there is a lot that we can to do make more informed and responsible decisions every time we get into a car. Creating safer roads begins with educating our youth about road safety.
On Thursday, May 22, we are hosting RSS Road Safety Day for our student community. Grade 10-12 classes will rotate through several road safety booths from Richmond RCMP, ICBC, Richmond Fire & Rescue, BCEHS, and Transit Police. Grade 10 students will receive a presentation on Road Safety and the Graduated Licensing Program from Richmond RCMP and an ICBC Driver Examiner. Grade 11 and 12 students will hear from ICBC Road Safety Speaker, Kevin Brooks. From his wheelchair, he shares his story as a reminder to think before getting into a vehicle.
